Liquor City Celebrating the Portuguese Community

Madeira Day 2017 will be celebrated like never before. Liquor City in partnership with the Portuguese Forum will be celebrating the Portuguese community and their rich history with the first Caravela Madeira Festival like no other from 30 June 2017 – 2 July 2017 at Monte Casino.

This event is aimed to celebrate the Portuguese community but also educate South Africans on the rich cultural history of Madeira and Portugal. But what if you are not Portuguese? Is this event for you? Most definitely. While the main theme behind the event is Portuguese celebration there will be a host of local and international artists, food, drinks and stalls.

What can you expect at this event? You can expect a fun filled weekend with a-list South African and Portuguese artists, great food from a wide range of suppliers, a beer garden, wine tasting and Portuguese ambassadors to give you more information on the Portuguese history.

Liquor City will be hosting wine tasting for those of a discerning pallet and those that just want to taste the wine route. With 25 of the leading wine farms joining us you will be able to taste a host of quality wine from the best South Africa has to offer. For only R50 you can enjoy the wine tasting and receive a complimentary tasting glass. There will also be some giveaways so don’t miss out!

If you are looking to enjoy some drinks while absorbing the ambience, then Liquor City has what you are looking for. There will be a bar kitted with some of the leading alcohol brands with some caparhinia made the proper way, cocktails, beer, wine, mixers and for the first time ever, Tipo Tinto will be on tap! That’s, right, on tap!
