The Cape Winds Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is a full bodies wine. Beautiful aromas of Cigar box, dark chocolate, eucalyptus and mint, together with the smoothness of the Merlot ensure a complex full-bodied red wine.
The Cape Winds Dry Red is a lightly styled, unwooded dry red blend. A pleasant, fruit-filled unwooded red wine with ripe summer berries on the nose, followed by soft spices on the gently lingering palate.
A complex nose of black fruit combined harmoniously with notes of spice and light hints of smoke. On the palate it reveals an extraordinary silky and elegant texture, with firm tannins and remarkable acidity, unravelling into a long and fresh finish.
A deep, rich colour, almost black but not quite. The bouquet is supremely inviting, while on the palate this Haut Médoc Cru Bourgeois is both supple and weighty. Ripe fruits and delicate gooseberries gradually develop earthy notes, followed by spices and vanilla. Good fullness, and long on the finish.
Château Ferrande 2015 shows a deep, beautifully intense colour – almost black. Red fruit on the nose with a smattering of warm, toasty notes and a hint of vanilla. A smooth attack followed by a beautifully full body with powerful, elegant tannins. Very harmonious on the palate, leading to a good, long finish.
The Cape Blend category requires a minimum Pinotage component of 30%. In the Kadette, the Pinotage element is rounded off with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, all aged in oak. The result is an opulent red wine offering an array of red and black fruit flavours underscored by depth and complexity.
Complete destemming and crushing. Fermentation in stainless steel vats at a temperature of 26°C for approximately 13 days. Half of the lot matures in new French and Caucasian barrels of 225litres, and the other half in 2 year-old barrels of 225 litres.
The range leads with the iconic Roodeberg red, an elegant fresh red wine with aromas of raspberry, red cherry and mulberry with subtle nuances of spice. The palate is beautifully layered with well-integrated, silky tannins and a lingering finish.
The nose of this wine tells the story of how the wine was made. Raspberry (Merlot), a slight herbaciousnous (Cabernet Franc) and English toffee (oak) combine in a harmonious way. Malbec and Petit Verdot provide colour and spice. Very perfumy and aromatic with beetroot earthiness and leafy undergrowth. Juicy concentrated blueberry fruit on palate with fresh acidity and toffee sweetness. Spicy cinnamon finish.
This is an elegant wine that offers a nose infused with appetising red berry flavours and earthy undertones. The light oak integration is simultaneously seamless and soft, yet lively, showing much fruit on the palate that works with pleasing touches of spice.
